I met LaToya at a youth event back when we were both helping in youth ministry. I was a youth leader and often went to local events to meet and establish relationships with surrounding churches. After years of being Facebook Friends LaToya asked me to be a part of a new ministry God had laid on her heart. She didn't know what to expect or what it was going to look like but she trusted God's leading and knew He was going to take over and do what He wanted with it. God has now made the ministry into a woman's and men's book and is taking it into study format.
During the time of writing my chapter, I struggled to not only meet the deadline, but also remain sane. The enemy was using anything he could throw at me to discourage me from being a part of this ministry. I was planning my wedding and was stressed beyond my control. I broke down crying most days because my heart knew this ministry was a benefit to what God was doing in my life, but I felt I couldn't focus on this and work and plan my wedding. After talking to my husband and praying with him, I decided to take it a little bit at a time. After moving the deadline a few times, all the contributors got their stories in and LaToya was able to send it off to the final stages. I know she was ecstatic to see what God was going to do.
Now, the book is finished and ready for purchase and her Husband, Joseph Gay, has completed it's brother book.
This opportunity has been a blessing for me because I need experience in writing my story. I desire to write my own series one day. A 3 part series covering Purity, Courtship and Marriage. We will see what God does with it.
